To reduce electricity expenses for households in Kulhudhuffushi, work has begun to select contractors to install hybrid solar systems on the rooftops of more than 1,700 households under the city council's "Gedhoshu Injeenu" project, initiated by Mayor Mohamed Athif.
As announced on October 6, 2026, efforts to establish a special system to produce low-cost electricity in Hdh. Kulhudhuffushi have been officially declared. The main objective of this project is to provide sustainable electricity services to the residents of Kulhudhuffushi while reducing the cost of electricity generation.
