Under the draft "Departure Tax Act" formulated by Thailand's Revenue Department, it has been proposed to levy a 1,000 Baht tax on every individual departing the country by air, and public consultations regarding the matter have been opened until 29 October 2026.
A formal proposal has been submitted to levy a 1,000 Baht tax on individuals departing from Thailand. Under this proposal, it has been stipulated that this amount will be collected from every passenger traveling out of the country. The main objective of introducing such a tax is to increase state revenue and secure funds needed to strengthen the country's economy. Relevant authorities are currently working to study this proposal further and make decisions.
