Speaking at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef called for the establishment of an independent State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, and for granting full UN membership to the nation. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu highlighted the achievements of key agreements established to strengthen relations in trade and defense sectors during Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's visit to the Maldives from September 14 to 15. In addition, the President expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the government of Malaysia for the cooperation and assistance extended to the Maldives.

In his remarks, he noted that wars impact the systems for transporting food from one place to another, disrupting supply chains. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening logistics to resolve food shortages caused by such crises. In addition, he called for collaborative efforts to find sustainable solutions to these issues.
Official sources have stated that no Maldivians living in or visiting Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, were harmed in connection with the flooding incidents there. Following heavy rains and flooding in some areas of Bangkok, relevant authorities have been closely monitoring the situation of Maldivians in the country, and no reports have been received so far of any Maldivian being harmed in this incident. Furthermore, all Maldivian citizens living in Bangkok have been urged to take safety precautions and pay attention to instructions issued by the local authorities. Relevant authorities are working to ensure the safety of Maldivian citizens and have arranged points of contact in case assistance is needed.
