On 10 September 2026, the Centre for Foundation Studies of the Maldives National University (MNU) conducted a one-day professional development program aimed at improving teaching skills and communication standards for around 80 female Islam and Quran teachers from thirty institutions.
The Maldives National University (MNU) commenced a special training program on September 10, 2026, aimed at enhancing the competency of Islam and Quran teachers. This program is an important initiative led by MNU to further raise the standard of Islamic education and Quran teaching in schools and to familiarize teachers with modern techniques and skills. In addition, special emphasis has been given to resolving challenges faced in the teaching field through this program and to instructing teachers in new methods that can boost religious awareness and interest among students. Such efforts undertaken within the education system for the professional development of teachers represent a constructive step toward improving the quality of education at the national level.
